Android Smartphones Finally Receiving Apple’s AirDrop Feature

If you are using Vivo, Oppo or Xiaomi Android OS running device, here we have some fantastic news for you. As we all known file transfer is one of the most important facts for all smartphone users and you, Group of Chinese developers are already started their work on the first smooth file transfer tool(Peer to Peer) which is similar to Apple’s Airdrop. AirDrop is known as one of the fastest file transfer methods for smart devices and compared to that; Android never had a universal file transfer system which even close to Apple’s AirDrop. Even though Android Beam was a pretty decent competitor for AirDrop, it removed from Google with the release of Android 10. All these three smartphone manufacturers have made a peer to peer transmission alliance between devices mentioned above, and it was announced back in August 2019. Even though it is not yet live on all three smartphone brands, Xiaomi has step on this great achievement by including the feature in their all devices running Android 9 or 10(Excluding Redmi 6 Pro, Redmi 6, Redmi 6A, Redmi 7A, Redmi 7, Redmi S2, Redmi 8, Redmi 8A. Redmi note 8 and 8T). 

Apple Feature Availability for Oppo

If you are using Oppo smartphone, you will be able to experience this feature in the near future as soon they offer Android 10 for Oppo’s Colour OS 7 OS. Right now it only available in beta for Oppo Reno 2, Reno 10X Zoom, Oppo F11 Pro, F11 Pro Marvel’s Avengers Limited Edition and F11.

Vivo has also announced the release note of the file transfer system, and according to Vivo, they will start to release this new feature in their new products from February 2020. So if you are Vivo fan, 2020 is going to be a huge year for you, and if you are willing to experience this amazing change, you must buy a new device model as soon they release. As we know, AirDrop was able to change so many things in file transfer technology of Smartphones and in simple, it has won so many hearts of iOS fans as well.

On the other hand, Vivo, Xiaomi and Oppo have announced that they are willing to expand the service with more brands all around the world. So soon, we will be able to see more brands involved with this amazing feature, including reputed Chinese companies Huawei and OnePlus as well.

According to the developers, this Android AirDrop service will be running on the same WiFI connection as well. In that case, by having a super-speed Wi-Fi connection such as 5G, you will be able to share massive bulk of files within a few seconds easily. 

If you are Oppo, Vivo or Xiaomi users, while using this file transfer service, you won’t see any button or App on your phone. It will work the same as Apple’s AirDrop system, and this will directly install on your current file share system for each device manufacturer.
